I’ve visited Rome many times before without finding a quality gym. I decided to try TrainAway and on my first attempt I found a fairly new fitness center with helpful staff. Was surprised by how easy everything worked

I am French and speak no Italian. Trainaway made it easy for me to use a gym in Italy.

Gilles M., on TrainAway

Normally I don’t work out on holiday because it’s so hard to find a good gym. And then when I get home I have to lose all that weight I’ve put on, especially when I go to Italy! Luckily, this time I’ll only have a couple of pounds to shake off.

Trevi Fountain

Trevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi) is a must-see when visiting Rome either on holiday or for business. It’s not only (probably) the most famous fountain in the world, but it is also the biggest in Rome. Its origins are dating back to ancient Rome as it served as an endpoint to the Aqua Virgo Aqueduct, where three streets met (tre vi), hence the name.
The current and final appearance of the fountain was finished in 1762 and it is made of Travertine stone which was also used to build the Colosseum.

Legend says throwing one coin into the fountain and you’ll return to Rome. Throw two, and you’ll fall in love. Throw three, and you’ll get married. To achieve the desired effect, make sure you throw the coin(s) with your right hand over your left shoulder with your back to the fountain. Since 2001, the money collected from the fountain goes to charity. Amazingly, roughly €3,000 is thrown into the fountain daily when it’s open.

For the planners, nearby attractions you can visit are the Spanish Steps and the Pantheon.

Fitness near the Trevi Fountain

With a reported number of 5.3 million people signed up to a gym (10.5% of the country’s population), Italy has one of the most active fitness industries in all of Europe.
However, due to a low English proficiency index, you may encounter some difficulties when trying to access gyms while being on a holiday or a business trip in Rome. Using TrainAway to buy day passes and get access to the best gyms in the city removes the language barrier and guarantees a great training experience for travelers.

If you want a good work out with a day pass within a few minutes from Trevi Fountain, you can either head towards the Spanish Steps and check out Dabliu Fitness Suite or walk to Dabliu Barberini.
