The Louvre Museum is the world’s largest art museum and one of the main landmarks in Paris. It occupies almost 800 000 square feet and features outstanding collections that date from prehistoric times all the way to the 21st century. You can visit the center on your own, or by booking one of the specialized tours, that range from those for first-timers to those who want to see the museum behind the curtains.
Regardless of your preferred way of exploring, you likely won’t be able to see all its 35,000 objects, but try to catch the most famous works, such as Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci or Death of the Virgin by Caravaggio. Complete your visit by purchasing a souvenir from the onsite shop, or simply enjoy a drink in one of the lovely onsite cafes.
