Hillerød is a small town of over 32.000 people in the capital region of Denmark, approximately 30 km north of Copenhagen. It’s popular among visitors because of Fredriksborg Castle, a large castle built as residence for King Christian IV in the 17th century. Today Frederiksborg Castle serves as the Danish Museum of National History. Hillerød is also home to the large park Dyrehaven, or “deer park.”
